Getting to know you
We start with where you are and what you want retirement to look like. This one is just a conversation about your situation and what is on your mind. No documents required yet.
A free retirement readiness check for people within ten years of retiring. You get a clear read on your income, savings, and expenses, and an honest answer to the question underneath all of it: are you on track? No cost, no obligation.
The readiness check has one job: to show you whether your current path gets you to the retirement you have in mind, or whether it is off course. It is not a generic calculator, and it is not a sales meeting. We look at your real numbers together and give you an honest read on where you are headed, with no commitment to go any further.
Where your income will come from once the paychecks stop, and whether it covers your needs.
Whether what you have saved, and how it is invested, lines up with the retirement you have in mind.
What your life costs now, and what you expect it to cost then.
How much of your essential spending is already covered by reliable income, so you can see where the gaps are.
Done virtually. Each one builds on the last, so by the end you have a real answer.

We review your income and spending today, and what you expect your life to cost in retirement, and I make sure everything is entered correctly. We also talk through your financial goals, so the picture reflects what actually matters to you.
I walk you through a clear picture of whether your current path is on track, using your real numbers. You leave knowing where your path looks strong and where it looks thin.
There is no catch, but there is a reason. Many people have never worked with a comprehensive financial planner, and showing you is better than describing it. Plenty of people who do the readiness check are not ready to hire anyone yet, and that is fine. Some come back a year later, some never do, and some realize they are more on track than they feared and just needed to see it. If ongoing planning turns out to be a good fit, I will tell you, and you decide from there with no pressure.
You are on track if your reliable income, plus what your savings can support, covers what you expect to spend in retirement, taxes and health care included. I organize your accounts, income sources, and goals into one picture, so you can see where you actually stand. From there I map the decisions ahead and the order to make them in.
No. The check is free and standalone. If you decide you want ongoing planning afterward, that is a separate decision you make on your own timeline.
Yes. Your information lives in the same secure planning software my clients use, protected by the safeguards described in the Privacy Policy. It is never sold, and it is shared only as the Privacy Policy describes. You control what you enter. Read the Privacy Policy.
Three meetings, each lasting 60 to 90 minutes, over about four to six weeks. Gathering the financial documents I will need usually takes people a few hours in one evening.
A clear read on where you stand today across your income, savings, investments, and expenses, and where your current path leads. It is an overview of where you are headed, not financial advice or a full plan, and it is enough to know whether you are on track.
Right now the question sits in the back of your mind and never quite gets answered. Are we okay? Will this all work out? The readiness check replaces that with a clear picture you can actually look at, and the relief of knowing where you stand instead of guessing. That is the whole idea.
